Why train to teach with Red Kite Teacher Training?

How will you make a difference?

There are lots of reasons people train to teach, and lots of decisions to make about which route suits you. What sets Red Kite apart is the diversity of our offering, and the amount of choice our trainees have in their programmes.

If you want to train in an outstanding, high achieving school, that’s great – we’ve got plenty. If you want to make a difference to under-privileged children in lower-income areas, that’s great too – we can secure incredible placements in these kinds of schools as well.

Whatever you want from your training programme, whether it’s in a city, urban or rural school, we can make it happen. Thanks to our partnerships across the region, we now offer placements in 60 schools across four Local Authorities throughout Leeds and North Yorkshire.

With Red Kite Teacher Training, you can choose not only how you make a difference, but where you make a difference too.

“I immediately felt valued and supported. What’s special about Red Kite is they tailor the training to suit you.

Everyone at Red Kite – and in particular Katherine (my Trainee Progress Leader) – was so supportive.”

Supporting you

Training to teach can be a daunting prospect, but with Red Kite it doesn’t have to be. You have a whole team of people behind you throughout
the journey from application to employment.

We start by making sure that our programme is tailored to your individual needs; you won’t be put in front of a class until you’re ready and we’ll always make sure there’s a qualified teacher in the classroom to support you.

You’ll also have the support of our experienced, dedicated Trainee Progress Leaders (TPLs), who are with you every step of the way to make sure you get the support you need.

What does a TPL do?

  • Help you get your first teaching job
  • Prepare you for interviews
  • Work with your placement schools to tailor your training for your individual needs
  • Reassure you when you need it most

On top of this, our dedicated Admin Team will help with a wide range of organisational issues so you can concentrate on your training!
