Training to teach doesn’t have to be complicated, and training with Red Kite is designed to be simple.
Thanks to the partnerships we’ve made across the region, our trainees can choose where they train and which partnership of schools they train in, while still receiving our high-quality teacher training programme and all the benefits that come with it.
Whether you’re seeking school-centred training, a School Direct course or a Part-Time programme, we take care of the complicated details and give you the flexibility to choose how to make it work best for you.
We’re also the only provider working in partnership with the University of Leeds, and our SCITT and School Direct courses lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE (worth 60 masters credits).
With a proven track record of bringing talented new teachers into the profession, our experienced team deliver outstanding training in schools within our partnership.
Our trainees have developed an excellent reputation, to the extent that many of our partner schools in the region will look to Red Kite first when recruiting for teaching roles.
We offer several different routes into teaching. School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) is available for Primary and Secondary and our School Direct (salaried & unsalaried) courses are available for Primary. In addition to this, we are now introducing a Part-Time programme and a range of SEND courses.
All Red Kite Trainee Teachers have access to student facilities and support at the University of Leeds. Trainees with us can make full use of the University’s accommodation services, learning resources, sports facilities, and student support services.
We also offer an Assessment Only route for professionals already employed in a school, who have a degree but do not hold QTS.
Due to the excellence of our Initial Teacher Training, Red Kite was selected by the DfE as a Teaching School Hub – giving us the chance to work collaboratively to spread our offer across the region.
