Red Kite Teacher Training offers school-based routes into teaching through a partnership of Primary, Secondary and Special Schools based in Leeds, Harrogate, Skipton and the surrounding areas.

Our Initial Teacher Training programmes are tailored to individual needs, making sure you get the most out of the experience and receive as much support as you need.

Whether you are a recent graduate, or you are considering a change of career, our courses will give you the best foundation for a successful career in teaching.

Emplyment Based Routes

With a proven track record of bringing talented new teachers into the profession, our experienced team deliver outstanding training in schools within our partnership.

We offer several different routes into teaching. School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) is available for Primary and Secondary and our School Direct (unsalaried) courses are available for Primary.

All Red Kite Trainee Teachers have access to student facilities and support at the University of Leeds. Trainees with us can make full use of the University’s accommodation services, learning resources, sports facilities, and student support services.

We also offer an Assessment Only route for professionals already employed in a school, who have a degree but do not hold QTS.

Our SCITT and School Direct courses lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recommended by Red Kite and a PGCE (worth 60 masters credits) awarded by the University of Leeds.
